The Track Mate Grade & Leveling System allows the model railroader to quickly and accurately set the gradient on their layout. No more unnecessary calculations, just set the Track Mate to the desired grade, and start laying roadbed. Don't worry about what scale you model in, Track Mate works on any scale, even 1:1. You can even go down to your local rail yard, place the Track Mate on the rail, and see the yard's grade.
The Track Mate is a precision instrument. Every unit is supplied with 5 gradient standards. Grade standards are labeled 1,2,..5, and each one corresponds to that particular grade. For example, the gradient standard stamped 1 corresponds to a 1% grade, and so forth. Specialty grade standards are available.
Built into every Track Mate is a second leveling vial that allows one to set the bank of the road bed to a level condition.
Operation of the Track Mate is Simple!
Set the Track Mate by Inserting Desired Grade Standard
Place Track Mate on Road Bed or Track
Elevate Road Bed or Track until the leveling vials read "zero"

Supplied with the Track Mate is a detailed instruction sheet that gives detailed instructions on the unit's operation. Each unit is meticulously inspected and calibrated before it is shipped.

The compact design is suited to any scale and allows one to place the unit in confined spaces on your layout. To get a more accurate reading over larger distances, we now offer an Extension Base for the Track Mate that offers a large 22" measuring foot print. The base completes the unit, and is fabricated from structural aluminum. Below is a picture of the Track Mate resting on the Extension Base.
