Dynamic Running Base (DRB)

Purchase a DRB to fit the largest engine you plan to run. Small engines fit on Large DRB's, but large engines do not fit on small DRB's. Most model railroaders purchase a DRB to fit a 4-8-8-4 size engine. In O Scale, this base is 36" long. The second most popular size is a DRB to fit a 4-8-4 size engine with a 30" overall length in O Scale. If the wheel base of the drivers on the engine is longer than the pit where the rollers sit in the base, you need to go to the next size base, or order the exact dimension you are looking for.

DRB's supplied with a cover come standard with rubber feet and cutout beneath the tender for sounds and airflow to the engine.

DRB's supplied without a cover come equipped with felt pads on the bottom.
